Dra. Lorena has played a pivotal role in my life. She supports, encourages and most importantly challenges me. It was because of her that I stepped out of my comfort and took on new challenges and roles that ultimately have led me to greater success. She gives a bright and positive outlook on life and helped me realize the importance of growth, reflection, and change. I am extremely grateful to have her as my femtor.

Doctora Lorena
Giving Esperanza to WOC disruptors, Doctora Lorena Márquez is a first-generation Chicana feminist and scholar-practitioner. Using frameworks of Critical Race Theory and LatCrit Theory, she centers her work on community building, intersectionality, access, student success, justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. A JEDI warrior in her own right, she is committed to amplifying the voices of marginalized communities.
In addition to creating the platform Doctorahood to empower and increase visibility for women of color in higher education, Doctora Lorena launched the Brown Mujer Rising coaching program. This transformative 4-week journey is specifically designed to guide Chicana/Latinas in reclaiming their power, embracing their stories, and rising above systemic barriers. Through a blend of healing, reflection, and empowerment, participants will gain the tools to step confidently into leadership roles in both personal and professional spaces.
